International Children’s Exhibition <Fairy Tale>
——Considering children’s psychology, and care groups for vulnerable children
Children have an amazingly rich imagination, and their inner world is always multicolored. Through art, children can express themselves; and through the artworks they create, we can witness growth and learning. It offers us a glimpse into a child’s mind, letting us better understand their world, and how they perceive themselves and their family. Art can help children find answers to the difficult questions that are raised throughout the process of growing up, and we should offer appropriate encouragement in order to aid the development of their imaginations, and their ability to question and explore the world around them. Imagination and creativity are central to intelligence, and creativity has a strong and positive impact on a child’s emotions and personality. Art nurtures imagination, and helps children solve problems regarding their emotions and interpersonal relationships - allowing them to gain better understanding of the psychological; and thus facilitating and promoting emotional projections, catharsis, empathy, and sublimation.
The artworks of children are bold, free, creatively composed, and full of wonderful imagination. Art is a direct way for them to express their emotional experiences and life history. Using visual tools, they can communicate their perception of the things around them; expressing suppressed feelings, and their subconscious. Through art therapy, we can help children who feel depressed and confused in life - and even children with mental illness - to better understand their thoughts, and improve their communication and interpretation skills. With the development of these skills comes greater self-satisfaction and self worth, opening up a better life for the child, and an even more colorful world around them.
